Kansas Senator Roger Marshall cut short a town hall meeting Saturday in western Kansas after residents pressed him about federal job cuts and the impact on veterans.
Marshall held a packed town hall meeting at the Logan County Hospital in Oakley, and people who attended the meeting voiced concerns about veterans losing federal jobs and services due to cuts by the Department of Government Efficency (DOGE). There were also comments about the war in Ukraine and concerns over rural health care.
Videos posted on social media showed the final moments of the town hall, when Marshall said he appreciated the comments, then said he had two more commitments and finished with “I appreciate everybody making the drive out, and God bless America.” As he left, members of the audience began booing and yelling “Not even an hour,” “You’re not done.”
Marshall has voiced support for the work of DOGE and he said the efforts are aimed at fraud, waste and abuse.
