UPDATE:  The Sedgwick County Election Office has released some updated numbers from Tuesday’s school bond election in Wichita.

The new numbers reflect mail ballots and provisional ballots.  There were 13,883 no votes and 13,588 yes votes.  The new numbers have widened the margin for the no votes to 295.

The unofficial results from Tuesday night, with all 198 precincts and advance votes counted, had 13,506 no votes and 13,278 yes votes, a margin of  228 votes.   It’s unclear if mail ballots yet to be received will affect the outcome.  Voters with mail ballots were supposed to have them postmarked by Tuesday and they will have to arrive at the Election Office by Friday.  The Election Office sent out 10,147 mail ballots and 6,121 had been returned by Tuesday.

The voter turnout for the election was 13.73 percent.  The vote canvass is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, March 6th and 9 a.m. at the Election Office.
