A Wichita man has been sentenced to prison for a fatal shooting that happened almost a year ago, while his son awaits trial in the same case.
A judge sentenced 42-year-old Tyree Jackson to over 12 years in prison, after Jackson pleaded guilty in November to second degree murder. He was given a total of 146 months.
Jackson’s son, 18-year-old Tyree Jackson, Jr., is scheduled for trial in June on a charge of first degree murder.
The father and son were arrested for the March 24th, 2024 shooting death of 20-year-old Jaden Wilson, who was shot several times while in his car at 21st and Grove. Police said an ongoing dispute led to the shooting.
