A Wichita man has been sentenced to more than 22 years in prison for the death of a man whose body was found last summer in the trunk of a car.
A judge sentenced 24-year-old Daitrez Birch to 272 months, after Birch pleaded guilty to second degree murder, with 43 months for aggravated burglary and 12 months for criminal desecration.
Police found the body of 39-year-old Kyce Barnes in the trunk of a car in the 8400 block of West Kellogg last August. He had been shot several times and his body was wrapped in bedding.
