Wichita State University officials said Monday that famed economist, actor and author Ben Stein has had to cancel his appearance on campus next month.
Stein was scheduled to appear March 11th as part of the Barton Speaker series, but university officials said he has canceled because of personal circumstances.
Tickets to the event were free and all of them had been claimed.
WSU president Rick Muma issued a statement saying, “We wish Ben well and hope there may be an opportunity to collaborate in the future.” The university will announce its 2026 Barton Speaker later this year.
