A report of a disturbance with a weapon led to a standoff at a north Wichita home Saturday night.
Officers were called to the 1800 block of North Estelle shortly after 8 p.m. and they found two 29-year-old women who said shots were fired at them. They were not hit, but one of the women had injuries from being pistol whipped.
The suspect refused to come out of a home, so the Police Department’s Crisis Negotiation Team was called to the scene. The man was eventually taken into custody and booked into jail for aggravated assault, criminal threat and battery.
