A driver from Michigan was killed Saturday evening in a two-vehicle head-on crash in Reno County.
Troopers said a pickup was traveling south on Kansas Highway 61 east of Turon and a semi was traveling north. The vehicles collided head-on around 7:30 p.m. in the southbound lane and the pickup went into the northbound lane and caught fire. The semi went off the left side of the road and came to rest in a ditch.
The pickup driver, 68-year-old Martin McLaughlin of Romulus, Michigan, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver, a 44-year-old man from Ludington, Michigan, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
