Freezing drizzle has caused a number of accidents in the Wichita area.

The drizzle has created a glaze on elevated highways, bridges and overpasses.   The City of Wichita has had crews out to treat the major routes across the city.

Wichita police have activated the Emergency Accident Reporting Plan.  Anyone involved in a non-injury accident in the city limits with no alcohol involved can exchange information with the other driver and then fill out an accident report within 24 hours.

Patchy freezing drizzle is expected across central and northeast Kansas.   A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until noon for Sedgwick County and the surrounding counties.  No major accumulations are expected but there will be a light glaze on sidewalks and roadways.

The sky is expected to clear later today with temperatures warming into the low 40s for the Wichita area.
