Today, we salute Veteran Taysha Gibbs. Service was in Taysha’s DNA. She spent 27 years in the Louisiana National Guard and had dreams of becoming a General, but as she puts it, God had other plans. Her very first mammogram showed she had stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. It was life-changing news that put her through chemo, radiation, and mastectomies. In 2022, doctors told her the scans were clear, but she still received treatment and has regular doctor visits. Taysha then launched the Fight Like a Warrior Foundation to help other cancer patients. For all of her work, Taysha was just surprised with two tickets to the Super Bowl. While she’s a die-hard Saints fan, she said she plans to cheer for the Chiefs because she loves Patrick Mahomes. Before the game, Taysha and her family will ride in the Super Bowl parade. Thank you for helping and enjoy the game Taysha, and THANK YOU for your service.
