Today the AWESOME is in Los Angeles. Marissa Hermer, a restauranteur in Los Angeles, has turned personal tragedy into action. Like so many, Marissa and her family were evacuated from their Pacific Palisades home. She also lost her restaurant to the fires. While at the hotel wondering “what’s for dinner,” it hit her how many displaced families were wondering the same thing. That inspired her to open the kitchens at her other restaurants, Chez Mia and Olivetta in West Hollywood, to cook warm meals — including bread, salad, and pasta — for families, firefighters, shelters, and hospital workers. Providing comfort one meal at a time THAT’S AWESOME.
