Today, we salute Vietnam Navy Veteran Anthony Mitchell. Anthony says he thanks God that he made it back from Vietnam, calling times over there “real treacherous and scary.” It turns out there were more challenges to come. When Hurricane Ida hit his home, it made it unlivable, but Anthony didn’t have the money or the time to get it fixed, and he was forced to live in his car. Then, his local VFW stepped in and teamed up with Rebuilding Together and Habitat for Humanity, and they set a goal to build Anthony’s home before the Super Bowl. The partners and volunteers did just that, and now Anthony has his home back. Congratulations on your new home Anthony and THANK YOU for your service.
