A jury has convicted a 44-year-old Wichita man in the fatal shooting of his stepdaughter, who he considered to be his common-law wife.
The verdict was returned Thursday in a trial for Larry Ingram, Jr on second degree unintentional but reckless murder and violation of a protective order. Ingram will be sentenced in March.
Ingram was arrested after the December, 2023 shooting death of 23-year-old Deniq Ingram at an apartment near K-96 and Woodlawn. Ingram told officers he heard a noise in the apartment and fired a shot because he thought someone was breaking into the apartment.
