UPDATE: The wife of a Sedgwick County Commissioner has been placed on diversion for a misdemeanor charge of electioneering.
A trial date had been scheduled for Meghan Blubaugh, but she applied to the court for diversion, and the District Attorney’s Office agreed to defer prosecution for six months. She will pay court costs of $160. She agreed to a bench trial on stipulated facts, if a trial should become necessary.
Blubaugh, wife of District 2 Commissioner Jeff Blubaugh, was charged in November. She is accused of wearing a Blubaugh campaign t-shirt to an advanced voting location on October 29th. Jeff Blubaugh was elected to the County Commission in the November election and he took office earlier this month.
