Today, the AWESOME is in Springdale, Arkansas. The cold weather and snow in the south this week were rare and created challenges for many people who weren’t used to that kind of weather. None bigger than the challenge Brooke and her husband were facing. He is battling colon cancer and going through chemotherapy, and the other night, during the snowstorm, they lost power in the bitter cold. With no heat, Brooke ordered a couple of heaters through Spark. After an unusual amount of time, she reached out to the driver, who said his car was in a ditch and he couldn’t make it. However, when he found out the heaters were for Brooke’s husband, Eduardo, the delivery driver walked them to her home. He refused any kind of tip but instead asked for friendship and told Brooke that he and his family would like to go through her and her husband’s journey with them as friends. Kindness and compassion in the middle of one of life’s big storms, THAT’S AWESOME.
