Today, we salute Veteran Paul Miller. Paul is a Chaplin for the American Legion and Bangor, VA, in his home state of Maine. Last fall, he flew to the Carolinas to lend spiritual support to all those affected by Hurricane Helene. Now, he’s headed to Los Angeles with the American Red Cross to provide that same support and care for those whose lives have been turned upside down by the California fires. Paul says it’s been his experience that every situation is different, but there is always a need for a listening ear, calling it a great start in connecting folks to necessary resources. Miller has committed to a two-week stay in California, where he will be sent to shelters across the state to provide spiritual care. He says this could always be extended depending on the need.
