The Kansas Department of Transportation has started work on a project to realign a busy intersection in Derby.
The project will realign Nelson Drive between Patriot Avenue and just south of Red Powell Drive, add a new east-west road near the midpoint of Patriot Avenue/Red Powell Drive and install a full-access traffic signal at K-15.
The work will be done Monday through Friday and construction is expected to be completed by December, although traffic should be open by early November.
Drivers are urged to stay alert and follow posted signs on all work zones.
