Today, the Awesome is in Lawrence, Massachusetts. 73-year-old Zoa Mendez was going about her day making flower deliveries when the next thing she knew, her life was in danger. During one of the deliveries, she accidentally left her car in drive, and it rolled over her, pinning her underneath. She began screaming for help, and that’s when Elvis Burgos rushed toward her. She was grabbing his leg and screaming as he was trying to lift the car off her. Soon, he was joined by other strangers. The group of them were able to lift the car and pull her to safety, and while she did suffer injuries to her legs, she is expected to recover. Elvis said he’s unsure what he would have done if others didn’t help. Seeing a need for a hero and answering the call, Elvis, THAT’S AWESOME.
