The Kansas Attorney General’s Office has filed the operator of 13 adult web sites, saying it has failed to verify the age of people using the web sites.

The lawsuit was filed against SARJ LLC, which distributes erotic films, photography and live streaming platforms.  Since July 1st, 2024, Kansas law has required such sites to verify the age of their users, and this is the first lawsuit to be filed under the law.

Attorney General Kris Kobach filed the lawsuit in Shawnee County District Court, and he said the law is making a difference in protecting children against the harmful effects of pornography.

Under the law, SARJ is subject to civil penalties of up to $10,000 per violation per day.
