Organizers of the annual Dam Jam Music Festival have announced a new location for the 2025 event.
This year’s event will take place on July 18th and 19th at the Winfield Fairgrounds, and organizers said this will provide upgraded facilities, more activities and improved options for camping.
A Production Company LLC president C.J. Wilson said this will be the start of a three-year partnership with the City of Winfield. The fairgrounds will offer extensive camping
under tree-filled shaded areas, open-air grandstands with shaded seating, and access to water for kayaking, swimming, and more. Winfield city manager Taggart Wall said in a press release that the music festival will enhance the city’s tourism efforts and it will have a significant economic impact in Winfield.
The festival will have 20 bands, with beach parties, contests and access to water activities. More information is available at the web site thedamjam.com
The concert event was held last year in a field near Goddard, after Sedgwick County Commissioners voted against having the event at Lake Afton. Commissioners had expressed concerns over public safety and over the content of one of the performers at the concert.
