Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab has announced his intention to run for the Republican nomination for the governor’s office in 2026.
Schwab, a native of Great Bend, was elected to the Kansas House of Representatives in 2002, and he is in his second term as Secretary of State.
In an announcement on his web site, Schwab said he wants to work to lower property taxes and follow conservative values and principles. He also wants to stop China from buying farmland next to U.S. military bases.
