Today, the AWESOME is in Pittsburgh. 9-year-old Prince Wise has a sophisticated palate and loves to cook. He was always in the kitchen with his mom, helping and asking lots of questions. At the age of 7, Prince became very ill and passed out. What his parent thought might be COVID-19 turned out to be an enlarged heart, and he needed a transplant to live. Prince received his heart, and that’s AWESOME, but there’s more to the story. After his new heart, he connected with Make-A-Wish, and they connected him with Floor 2, a restaurant in Pittsburgh looking for help creating a new menu item. It was Prince to the rescue who worked with the Executive Chef to create a double patty crab cake sandwich with avocado that was offered on the menu, with a portion of the proceeds going back to Make-A-Wish. Getting to do what you love thanks to a new heart THAT’S AWESOME.
