Today, we salute U.S. World War II Veteran Onofrio Zicari. Unlike so many, Onofrio was one of the fortunate who returned home after fighting in the war. This Tuesday, that service will be recognized by the country of France. Onofrio will receive France’s National Order of the Legion of Honor in the rank of Chevalier (Knight). This prestigious award is the highest honor France bestows on its citizens and foreign nationals. Onofrio is being honored for his gallant actions in France during the war. The ceremony will take place in his hometown of Las Vegas. Congratulations on this incredible honor, Onofrio, and THANK YOU for your service.
