Sedgwick County District Attorney Marc Bennett is warning citizens about email scams that could introduce malware into their home computers.
Bennett shared two emails recently sent to him and a staff member. The emails will claim that a major purchase has been made, or a large deduction has been made from an account, or an existing account is about to expire. He is warning citizens not to click any links or buttons that may resemble bank/savings information.
Bennett said an email was sent to one of his investigators about a Paramount+ subscription that is expiring, but the investigator and her family are not subscribing to that service.
