The state grocery tax in Kansas will soon become a thing of the past.  The state’s sales tax on groceries will drop to zero on January 1st.  A bill to eliminate the state grocery tax was approved in 2022.  Before the law was approved, Kansas had one of the nation’s highest sales taxes on groceries at six-point-five percent.
