Police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting that happened in early November in a north Wichita neighborhood.
The suspect was booked into jail for felony murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and aggravated battery.
Officers were called to the 2300 block of North Mascot on the night of November 6th, and they found two victims inside a home. A 49-year-old man reported hearing several gunshots and he was hit in the lower left leg. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated and later released. Another person in the home, 48-year-old Deanna Garcia, was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound to her upper body, and she was pronounced dead a short time later.
