It was Hannah’s wedding day, and as she walked down the aisle, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. Not because of her dress or how she was glowing but because of her 10-year-old son Frankie. Frankie was born with SUCLA-2 mitochondrial depletion syndrome. Because of this, Frankie deals with significant developmental challenges, including being mildly deaf and unable to walk, and doctors previously informed Hannah that he might not survive beyond his teenage years. However, Frankie made his Mom a promise that he would walk her down the aisle, and when she recently remarried, he did just that. Frankie walked down the aisle with a beaming smile, prompting tears of joy. Keeping a very special promise against all odds, Frankie, THAT’S AWESOME.
