A former staff member for the Augusta school district has been charged in connection with an incident on a school bus earlier this week.
A charge of indecent liberties with a child was filed against 73-year-old William Wetzel, who was arrested after the incident on Monday. During a hearing Wednesday in Butler County District Court, his bond was set at $300,000.
The incident happened on a school bus, and Augusta school officials reported it to police. They also provided video footage that reportedly shows the incident. Officials said the victim is 14 to 16 years of age.
Wetzel was fired by the school district after his arrest.
