The Reno County Sheriff’s Office said a driver from Wichita was killed in a one-vehicle crash early Thursday.
Deputies were called to the area of 56th Avenue and Plum Street, north of Hutchinson, around 3:15 a.m. They found a vehicle on its side in the northeast ditch, and it appeared the driver had been thrown from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and she was identified as 65-year-old Terry Lynn Moore of Wichita.
Deputies believe the vehicle was going south on Plum and failed to negotiate a curve leading to the roundabout at the intersection with 56th Avenue. The vehicle hit a culvert and then went airborne, rolling several times. The crash is still under investigation.
