The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after skeletal remains were found in the Oaklawn neighborhood.
The remains were found shortly after 6 Monday evening, under a tree behind a closed business in the 4800 block of South Clifton. Investigators said the advanced decomposition of the remains prevented immediate identification, including an approximate age or gender.
The Sedgwick County Coroner and an anthropologist went to the scene to help with the investigation, and the remains were taken to the Regional Forensic Science Center. Detectives have been looking at missing persons reports from the region.
