Today, we salute Retired Army National Guard Sgt. Benjamin Marksmeier. In 2006, a roadside bomb cost Benjamin his right leg and severely injured his left. He said it was one of the worst parts of his life. Physically, emotionally, and psychologically. He hit rock bottom and realized at that point there was no place to go but up. Along came Helping a Hero and Bass Pro Shops who helped him do just that. The other day surrounded by friends and family and greeted with an ovation from High School students and a song from country singer Tate Stevens, Benjamin received the keys to his brand new, adaptive home. Benjamin said serving others has always been important to him. To receive servitude was a true, blissful feeling for him. Enjoy your new home Benjamin and THANK YOU for your service.
