A dispute led to a shooting that left one man dead and another in critical condition early Saturday in Wichita’s Riverside neighborhood, and police have arrested a teenage suspect.
Police were called to Sim Park near Murdock and Amidon around 12:20 a.m. and they found two men with gunshot wounds. One victim, identified as 19-year-old David Hernandez-Cervantez of Wichita, died later at a hospital. A 22-year-old man remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Investigators identified a 16-year-old suspect, and he was later arrested for second degree murder. Police said the victims and the suspect are known to each other and investigators are still looking into the circumstances that led to the shooting.
