A Wichita man has been sentenced to more than 35 years in prison for a fatal shooting in 2021 at an Old Town nightclub.
A sentencing hearing was held Friday for 26-year-old Keshawn Dawson, and a judge sentenced him to 431 months in prison with 36 months post-release supervision.
Dawson pleaded guilty in May to second degree reckless murder and six counts of aggravated battery. He was arrested after a September 7th, 2021 shooting incident at the Enigma Club and Lounge at 351 North Mosley. Police said Dawson was kicked out of the club after a disturbance but he returned later and fired shots through the windows. A bartender at the club, 34-year-old Preston Spencer, was killed and six other people were injured. Dawson was arrested in Arizona a month after the shooting and returned to Wichita to face charges.
