Four people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at a rural intersection west of Wichita.
The crash was reported around 9:45 Wednesday morning at Central and 167th Street West.
A 66-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, and a 15-year-old male passenger was also seriously hurt. A 30-year-old woman who was driving the second car declined treatment at the scene. A 30-year-old woman driving the third vehicle was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Sedgwick County deputies said the woman in the third vehicle said she was distracted by her phone and items in her vehicle, and she failed to stop at a stop sign, colliding with a northbound car. The two vehicles then collided with a westbound vehicle that had stopped at the intersection.
Investigators will consult with the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for a decision on any charges.
