Local, state and federal offices will be closed Thanksgiving Day, and the closings will extend into the weekend for some facilities and operations.
The City of Wichita released a list of closings and special hours for the weekend.
Closed Thursday, November 28: City Hall, neighborhood resource centers, Transit administrative offices, Wichita Public Library locations, Park administrative offices & Recreation centers, O.J. Watson Park, Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Centers, Wichita Public Golf Courses, Botanica, CityArts, Mid-American All-Indian Museum, Cowtown, Wichita Art Museum, Great Plains Nature Center, Environmental Health office, the WATER Center, and Brooks Landfill.
Closed Friday, November 29: City Hall, neighborhood resource centers, Transit administrative offices, Wichita Public Library locations, Park administrative offices & Recreation centers, CityArts, Mid-American All-Indian Museum, Cowtown, Great Plains Nature Center, Environmental Health office and the WATER Center.
Closed Saturday, November 30: CityArts and the Mid-American All-Indian Museum.
Closed Sunday, December 1: CityArts.
There will be no Wichita Transit or Paratransit service on Thursday, November 28. Transit and Paratransit service will run Friday and Saturday according to the Saturday schedule.
Special Hours:
- Monday through Wednesday, November 25-27: CityArts will close at 5 p.m.
- Wednesday, November 28: O.J. Watson Park will close at noon, Atwater, Colvin and Evergreen neighborhood resource centers will close at 2 p.m. and the Wichita Public Library locations will close at 5 p.m.
- Friday, November 29: Brooks Landfill will be open 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- Saturday, November 30: Brooks Landfill will be open 8 a.m.-noon.
- The Wichita Art Museum will be open regular hours starting Friday, and Cowtown will be open regular hours starting Saturday.
Sedgwick County offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
