Today, we salute Navy Veteran Matthew Sherban, Army Veteran Denny Lee Bray, and the Smiles For Veterans Program. Matthew, a doctor of dentistry specializing in oral surgery, participates in the program to give Veterans like Denny a brand new smile that they otherwise couldn’t afford. In Denny’s case, it would have cost $50,000 to create the custom-made prosthesis and fix the missing and broken teeth. Matthew says, “I’ve seen a lot of veterans that give everything for their country and then don’t have the means to support themselves.” “Other than my son being born and being baptized, it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me; I can have the confidence to go out and eat and speak to people,” Bray said. When asked about his new smile, Denny said, “I want to be able to socialize with my family, and I don’t want to embarrass anybody because of my teeth, yes sir, and going and eating a big steak.” Enjoy that steak, Denny; thank you for helping Matthew, and THANK YOU both for your service.
