The wife of a newly-elected Sedgwick County Commissioner has been charged with electioneering during the November general election.

Meghan Blubaugh is accused of wearing a campaign t-shirt to an advance polling location on October 29th.  The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said she is accused of unlawfully and knowingly trying to persuade or influence eligible voters at a polling place.

Electioneering is a Class A misdemeanor.  Blubaugh is scheduled for a first court appearance on December 17th.  She is the wife of Jeff Blubaugh, a former Wichita City Council member who was recently elected to the District 2 seat on the Sedgwick County Commission and will take office in January.
