Today, we salute Vietnam Veteran Jimmy Ohlheiser. Jimmy was wounded in the Vietnam War in 1968 when he took a rifle round to the head, an injury that left him paralyzed on his left side. As is tradition, he should have had a purple heart pinned on his chest, yet that medal he deserved was lost over the decades due to piles of red tape. A couple of days ago, it was all made right, with some help from Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma and some of the staff at the Veterans home, who tracked it down. The ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Monument in Oklahoma City was an emotional moment, seeing the man who gave so much for his country finally get what he deserves. Congratulations on finally receiving your medal, Jimmy, and THANK YOU for your service.
