The Kansas Department of Transportation said the ramps from westbound K-96 to I-135 in north Wichita have been closed at night, along with the southbound I-135 ramp to eastbound K-96. The ramps have been closed from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. for demolition work as part of the North Junction project.
KDOT said additional bridge demolition work may require the ramps to periodically remain closed until 11 a.m. It will not be known until late the night before when the extended closures are needed. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and be aware of possible delays.
The estimated completion of the demolition is set for early December, depending on weather conditions. Motorists are advised to follow posted signs and exercise caution while traveling through the area.
