The Kansas Department of Transportation said westbound Interstate 70 has been closed again from Goodland west to Denver, Colorado because of a winter storm that has brought snow to the area.   The roadway was closed Thursday and reopened in the evening, but it was closed again Friday.

KDOT officials said some other highways in the area are still closed, and severe winter weather is expected to persist in Colorado through Saturday morning, impacting drivers in both Colorado and Kansas.   Motorists are being advised to postpone westbound travel if possible.

Drivers are urged to buckle up and be alert for changing weather conditions.

Extreme northwest Kansas could get 2-4 inches of snow from the storm, with areas in northeast Colorado getting an additional 7 to 14 inches.  Limon, Colorado was reporting 14 inches on the ground while Aurora had 11 inches.
