Today, we salute McConnell Air Force Base Airman Donald Kunkel Jr. thanks to words shared by his sister-in-law, Holly Bennett Leigh:
All the way from Maine, New Hampshire, and New Mexico, We are proud to recognize our amazing brother, Donald Kunkel Jr. Donald (Donnie) enlisted in the USAF in October 1997. Shortly thereafter, he met his beautiful wife, Melissa (also a USAF Veteran), and they soon began the adventure of military life.
Three wonderful children (Kayla, Cobe, and Sophia), three deployments, many moves, and much dedication (by all) have led Donnie to today, the day before his well-deserved promotion. Tomorrow, Donnie will be promoted to Chief Master Sergeant and become the Mission Support Group Senior Enlisted Leader.
Impressive and Wicked Awesome!! Melissa & the kids, your 3 Brothers & their wives (Kenny & Holly, Chris & Debra, Scooter & Tiffany), and your 15 nieces and nephews all want the good folks of Kansas (and beyond) to know that we couldn’t be more proud of you, Donnie!
We all deeply appreciate your service and dedication to both our country and family! Congratulations, Chief, nicely done! Love, your family #gosox
And Donnie, from me, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND DEDICATION TO YOUR COUNTRY.
