Today, we salute Veteran Robert Gulley. Robert served his country as a radio operator in Vietnam and, after his service, continued to pursue his passion as a talented sculptor. He moved to NYC to study for his Masters in Fine Arts and apprenticed with legendary sculptor Richard Hunt. Four decades later, he moved to Illinois, and his health took a turn. Debilitating pain kept him isolated and living out of his car a lot. He stopped going to the VA for his appointments and eventually began avoiding his Telehealth provider. Thankfully, that telehealth provider could tell how serious things were for Robert, and she intervened with a welfare check. Robert, very sick and weighing just 127 pounds, was brought to the hospital; he got the treatment he needed and is now healing once again through his passion for sculpting. Thank you for sharing your gift, Robert, and THANK YOU for your service.
