Rose Hill police chief Taylor Parlier said Thursday his department is continuing to investigate the death of a six-year-old girl whose remains were found buried behind a home in September.

Police said the child, Kennedy Jean Schroer, was born on July 14th, 2014 and it’s believed that she died in November of 2020.  An autopsy failed to determine a cause of death.

In a post on social media, Chief Parlier said, “This case covers a geographical area outside of the City of Rose Hill, and State of Kansas. And as new threads emerge if another jurisdiction is involved, they are looped into the case as and where needed.”    He said after four years there is limited physical evidence to be found in the case, and police are collecting data from beyond the past four years.  He said as the information comes in, it creates a mosaic of the case and “Once that mosaic is complete, then we will have enough information to forward charges in this case.”
