Fire destroyed a guest cabin and a house late Wednesday night on the property of the Safari Zoological Park, east of Caney in Montgomery County.
No injuries were reported and all animals are safe at the zoo. Propane tank explosions kept firefighters at a distance as they tried to put the flames out.
The zoo has been in operation for over 30 years, and the owner said he plans to rebuild the facilities that were lost. There was no word on the cause of the fire.
