The driver of a semi was killed when his truck collided with a train Tuesday morning in Butler County.

The crash was reported around 10 a.m. at at a railroad crossing near Douglas Road and Sunset Road, on the property of the HF Sinclair Refinery in El Dorado.

Butler County sheriff’s deputies said the semi, pulling an empty flatbed trailer, began to go over the crossing, but stopped and tried to reverse.  The driver was unable to get off the tracks in time and a southbound train crashed into the passenger side of the semi.  The driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.   His name has not been released pending notification of relatives.
