Today, the AWESOME is in Manlius, New York. The high school football game between Fayetteville-Manlius and Henniger was already decided long before the whistle blew, with Fayetteville-Manlius leading 42-16. Henniger could have been a little salty about the beating they took on the field. Instead, they displayed a beautiful act of kindness and sportsmanship for Noah Dickinson, running back for Fayetteville-Manlius, who has Down Syndrome. As the clock ticked down, Noah was given the chance to take the field for the last play. With the crowd watching in anticipation, he took a handoff and sprinted 75 yards for a touchdown, cheered on by players and fans from both sides. That night, Noah was a true football star, and his touchdown wouldn’t just be remembered as a highlight of the game but also as a highlight of his life. And THAT’S AWESOME.
