The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers said Friday it has presented a revised proposal to Textron Aviation for a new contract as striking workers remain on the picket lines for a third week.
The union released a statement on the proposal:
“IAM Local 774 representatives met with Textron Aviation officials on the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 10 to present a revised proposal developed in response to valuable feedback gathered from our membership through a recent survey.
The revised proposal reflects the priorities and concerns expressed by our members, ensuring that their voices resonate in the negotiation process. During the meeting, the IAM Local 774 negotiating committee emphasized the importance of collaboration and open dialogue to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
We are currently awaiting the company’s response to the revised proposal and remain hopeful for a positive outcome that serves the best interests of our members and the Wichita community.”
There was no immediate word from the company on the union proposal.
