A woman was killed Thursday evening when she was hit by a car while trying to cross a street near a south Wichita intersection.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said 34-year-old Marjorielle Evans of Wichita was struck around 7:30 p.m. near 47th Street South and Meridian. Sedgwick County deputies said a 34-year-old woman was crossing the street where there is no crosswalk or streetlight, and the driver did not see her.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the car, a 26-year-old Wichita woman, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
