A Wichita man has been sentenced to over ten years in prison for robberies at six local pharmacies.

A sentence of 122 months was given to 42-year-old Steven Stone, and he will undergo 36 months of post-release supervision.

Stone was arrested after hydrocodone pills were taken from six Walgreens locations.  The first robbery was reported August 19th, 2021 from a Walgreens at 21st and Maize Road. On November 21, Stone held up the Walgreens at 1555 S. Broadway and showed the pharmacy technician a note that read, “Give me one bottle of hydrocodone or I’ll shoot.”
On December 15, 2021, Stone robbed the pharmacy at 21st and Maize a second time, taking a bottle of 500 hydrocodone pills.  On January 26, 2022, Stone robbed the
Walgreens at Central and West Street, using another threatening note. The next robbery was at the Walgreens at the corner of 13th and Waco where Stone showed the
man behind the counter a gun and a note that read, “Give me Narcos or I will start shooting.” The last robbery was on March 18th, 2022 at the pharmacy at Central
and West Street.

Police used pharmacy cameras, video from neighboring businesses, and witness descriptions in tracking the robber, and cell tower information was used to track Stone’s cell phone.  He was arrested in March, 2022 at his home.
