Today, the AWESOME is in Tennessee. David Jones could normally make the trip from South Carolina to Tennessee to see his daughter in 2-hours, but on this trip, it took a lot longer. David was on his way to his daughter’s wedding for the walk down the aisle, the father-daughter dance, and everything. There was one big problem: Hurricane Helene. After 7-hours of driving through very difficult conditions, he finally got out of his car and walked. Using the light from his phone and sometimes getting stuck knee-deep in mud, he walked 5 hours the rest of the way. David arrived just in time to change and walk his daughter down the aisle. When Mother Nature can’t stop a determined father, THAT’S AWESOME.
