Police arrested an unidentified man after a shot was fired at an unmarked police car, leading to a four-hour standoff in a north Wichita neighborhood.
Police said an officer was conducting surveillance Saturday evening in the 1400 block of North Grove in a case involving some recent robberies. Someone walked up and looked into the car, then a short time later a man appeared in the driveway of a home and fired one shot from a rifle at the police car. No one was hurt.
The man locked himself inside the home and refused to come out, and a SWAT team was called to the scene. The man was taken into custody around 11:30 p.m.
